If Youâre Reading This⊠đ
Chances are youâre at uni right nowâmaybe sitting in your flat, staring at the walls. Or maybe youâre 30, living at home. Either way, I think we all need to hear this:
Iâve had (and still have) really bad anxiety my whole life. I would literally make myself sick from overthinking. And when that happens, the easiest thing to do is nothing. Stay at home, where it feels safe.
But broâlifeâs too short for that.
When you hide away, youâre not making it better. Youâre feeding the anxiety. Youâre letting it multiply. Youâre letting it consume you.
The solution? Small steps.
1. Leave the House đ¶
Go for a walk. Even if itâs five minutes.
Iâve had those moments where I felt like everyone was watching me when I walked down the street. The truth? No one cares. Everyoneâs stuck in their own world, worrying about themselves.
2. Hit the Gym đïž
The gym is scary when youâre anxious. Iâve been there. But hereâs what Iâve learned:
Most people in the gym want to see you win. Theyâre there for the same reasonâto get better.
One time I thought people were staring at me. Turns out, they came over and helped me. They werenât mocking me. They were supporting me.
3. People See Themselves First đ
When I bought my blacked-out S3, I felt like the dogâs boll***s driving it. For about a week, I thought everyone was looking at me. Then I realised something:
People didnât think I was cool. They thought, âIf I had that car, Iâd feel so cool.â
Or, honestly, they thought I had a small willy. Probably the latter. đ
The point? **People are too busy thinking about themselves.**
Final Thoughts
Donât lock yourself away. If you do, it becomes harder and harder to get back to your baseline. Take small steps. Leave the house. Go for a walk. Hit the gym.
Youâre stronger than you think.
